PytoX Pyrolysis-to-X (FRO)
Project goal: Develop and demonstrate production of advanced biofuels derived from pyrolysis gas and to investigate sustainable biochar additives for building materials.

Project timeline: 2025-2028
Approach: The project concerns the utilization of biogenic pyrolysis gas to produce a drop-in fuel for the industrial sector, derived from the condensable bio-oil fraction and biomethane through biological methanation. Additionally, the potential applications of biochar in construction materials are being investigated.
Expected results: Demonstrate bio methanation of dry pyrolysis gas, production of pyrolysis oil, and application of biochar in building materials.
SkyClean’s contribution: Hosting the demonstration of bio methanation and biooil production at the 2 MW pyrolysis plant located at GreenLab Skive.
Partners: Saint Gobain, BiogasClean, DTU, Fredericia Maskinmesterskole and Stiesdal SkyClean.
