Project goal: Enhance the climate, environmental, and fertilisation benefits of biogas by improving digestate quality and enabling wider use of animal manure in Danish biogas production.
Project timeline: 2024-2027
Approach: The project develops and tests solutions for degassing manure, reducing ammonia emissions, and using straw and solid manure as new resources, ensuring practical application across the value chain.
Expected results: The project supports Denmark’s goal of doubling the share of degassed manure from one third to two thirds by 2030, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts. The project increases dry matter harvest from biogas residue fibres, providing more material for pyrolysis and thereby enabling more carbon sequestration
